FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton track and field had yet another school record broken on Saturday as Corey Gilbert broke his own discus record at the Titan Twilight. Saturday was also day two of the combined events portion of the Big West Championships at Cal State Northridge. The primary part of the meet is set for May 11-12, also at CSUN.

Gilbert had a personal-best toss of 184-0 (56.09m) in the discus to break his own school-record mark of 178-7 (54.45m) set earlier this season. He earned a runner-up finish in the event.

At CSUN and in his first-ever decathlon, Dwayne Lee took 12th place overall with 5,615 points. Kyle Clancy of UC Davis won the event with 7,181 points. He tweaked his hamstring on his first attempt in the pole vault and was unable to continue vaulting so he did not score a point in that event. He then did a standing javelin throw and hobbled his way around the track for the 1,500-meter race since he was determined to finish all 10 events. Lee showed what it means to be a Titan on Saturday.

In the heptathlon, the Titans finished 13-14-15 with Iesha Hamm leading the way at 4,086 points in her first-collegiate heptathlon. Tammy Vien was 14th with a personal-best score of 3,952 and Jordan Agnew was 15th at 3,917 points. Hope Bender of UC Santa Barbara won the Big West Championship in the event with 5,561 points.

Back at the Titan Twilight, in the men's 4x100-meter relay, the quartet of Luis Matos, Thaddeus Smith, Rasaun House and Marcel Espinoza clocked a winning time of 40.65.

House clocked a personal-best time of 21.39 (+1.7 wind) in the men's 200-meter sprint to win the event while Matos was behind him in second at 21.85 (+1.7 wind). Kiana Clay was just off a personal best in the 200 meters, as she won with a time of 24.44 (+1.5 wind).

Alysse McMillen won the women's pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 12-9.5 (3.90m), the No. 3 mark in the Big West Conference this year. Anthony Applequist won the men's long jump with a mark of 22-8 (6.91m, 0.0 wind). Onyx Gaston won the women's triple jump as she had a leap of 37-9.5 (11.52m, +0.5 wind). Edwin Matthews cleared 6-9 (2.06m) in the high jump to earn a runner-up finish. Ryan Polakiewicz's mark of 15-9 (4.80m) in the men's pole vault was good for second place overall.

Morgan Love won the women's 400-meter sprint with a time of 58.11 and Mia Franco took second place at 58.63. Tatiana Bell clocked a season-best time of 12.06 (+1.2 wind) in the 100-meter dash to take second place while Alayah Byers was fourth at 12.14 (+1.2 wind).

The Titans went 2-3-4 in the men's 400-meter hurdles as Diego Courbis led the way with a time of 54.55. Charles Kelly was third at 54.56 and Blake Rose was third with a time of 56.04. On the women's side, CSF went 2-3 with Tyler Hardge at 61.89 and India Owens at 62.52. In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Sam Schubert won the race at 14.41 (+1.3 wind) while Kelly was second (14.85, +1.3 wind) and Rose was third (14.92, +1.3 wind).
