FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton track and field faced tough competition at all three of the meets it participated in on Thursday night. The Titans performed well at Long Beach State's Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and competition will resume on Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays.

At the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, Iesha Hamm set a school record of 5-10 (1.78m) in the women's high jump competition to take third place overall. She bested Ty'Jalayah Robertson's mark of 5-8 (1.73m) that she set in 2017. Hamm's mark is tied for the best in the Big West this year. Laura Hamann triple jumped 40-2 (12.24m, +1.6 wind) to take fourth place. That is a season-best mark that is No. 3 in the conference this year. In the men's triple jump, Anthony Applequist won the competition with a mark of 50-1.25 (15.27m, +0.2 wind).

Mason Guzman-Sanchez took second place in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a wind-aided time of 14.37 (+2.9 wind). Luis Matos ran a wind-aided 10.60 (+3.0 wind) to take fourth place in the men's 100-meter dash.

In the women's 400-meter hurdles, India Owens was seventh with a time of 63.5 while Blake Rose was sixth on the men's side at 55.70.

Corey Gilbert finished in eighth place in the men's discus with a toss of 171-8 (52.32m) and on the women's side, Sierra Valdivieso was ninth with a personal-best toss of 158-11 (48.44m).

Nicole Clark earned a runner-up finish in the javelin with a toss of 144-3 (43.96m). Kelsey McKelvey was 13th at 122-9 (37.41m). On the men's javelin side, Alvin Sung had a personal-best toss of 203-2 (61.94m) to take second place. Sung already had the top mark in the Big West by roughly 18 feet and just improved that league-leading mark.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Danny Ramirez posted a men's 3K steeplechase time of 8:57.10, good for a personal best and the top mark in the conference this year.
