Hamm and Hamann Earn Wins for Women’s TF at Lumberjack Team Challenge

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Freshman Iesha Hamm's win in the women's high jump and senior Laura Hamann's triple jump victory highlighted the day for the Cal State Fullerton women's track and field squad at the Lumberjack Team Challenge on Friday night in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Hamm won her first collegiate high jump competition with a clearance of 5-7 (1.70m), just off the indoor school record of 1.71m set in 2015. Hamm also long jumped (16-8.75/5.10m) and ran the 60-meter hurdles (9.85).

Hamann won the triple jump competition with a personal-best mark of 38-3.5 (11.67m). Her previous best was 36-10.25 (11.23m) set at the 2017 MPSF Championships. Junior Onyx Gaston also posted a personal-best mark in the triple jump at 36-2.75 (11.04m). Hamann long jumped as well, going 17-0 (5.18m), the second-best mark of her indoor career, to take 11th place overall.

The Titans placed 2-3-5 in the pole vault competition. Sophomore Shelby Noble was in a jump-off for first place but took second with a clearance of 11-11.75 (3.65m), the No. 3 mark of her indoor career. Arielle Williams (Bray) also cleared 3.65m in third place and freshman Mariah Lark made her collegiate debut at 10-6 (3.20m).

The quartet of senior Tyler Hardge, junior India Owens, senior Fanny Giron and sophomore Mia Franco took fifth place in the women's 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:57.36.

Senior Tatiana Bell just missed a PR by 0.02 seconds in the 60-meter sprint, clocking a time of 7.77 in ninth place. Bell also ran the 200-meter sprint in 25.55, good for 12th place overall and just 0.06 off her personal best. Alayah Byers clocked a PR of 7.81 in the 60 meters and finished in 14th place.

Senior Jordan Agnew a pentathlete, competed in the high jump, long jump, 60-meter hurdles and shot put events. Agnew posted a personal-best mark of 16-10.75 (5.15m) in the long jump and was one millimeter off of personal best in the high jump, clearing 4-9 (1.45m). She also had personal bests of 32-3 (9.83m) in the shot put and 9.91 in the 60-meter hurdles.

Freshman Sierra Valdivieso posted a mark of 45-01.75 (13.76m) in the weight throw, good for 12th place in her first collegiate meet.

The Titans return to the track next weekend at the UW Invitational in Seattle on Jan. 26-27.
