Fullerton Finishes First Day at MPSF Championships

SEATTLE --- The Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field team set a number of personal records in its first day of competition at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships hosted by the University of Washington at Dempsey Indoor on Friday.

 

 

Sophomore Tatiana Bell's time of 7.75 in the 60 meters was a personal best as she placed 29th in the preliminaries, while freshman Tammy Vien also clocked the fastest time of her career, 8.01, finishing 44th.

 

In the 60 meter hurdles, Vien placed 14th in the preliminaries with a time of 8.78, while fellow freshman Kyra Anderson closely followed with a time 8.79 in 15th place.

 

Freshman Shelby Noble finished 25th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.67 meters, while junior Bryn Williamson placed 27th with the a mark of 3.67 meters.

 

Freshman Naiah Boardingham, who set the new Cal State Fullerton indoor long jump record earlier this season, was not able to compete on Friday due to an injury suffered on Thursday in practice.

 

Laura Hamann's jump of 5.27 meters was a new personal best for the junior, as she placed 23rd, while Anderson also recorded a new PR as the rookie hit a mark of 5.24 meters.

In the pentathlon, junior Jordan Agnew placed 18th with a 2,995 point total improving her performance from one month ago at the UW Invitational by nearly 200 points.

 

Competition from the 2017 MPSF Indoor Track and Field Championships will resume on Saturday from Dempsey Indoor.
