FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. --- Cal State Fullerton's freshman class excelled on Saturday at the Lumberjack Team Challenge hosted by Northern Arizona at Walkup Skydome in the team's indoor season opener.

Freshman Naiah Boardingham placed fourth in the women's long jump, but her mark of 18' 8.50" set a new Titan indoor record previously held by Montiqua Sargent with a jump a 18'4" from 2002.

Junior Arielle Bray placed first in the women's pole vault with a mark of 11'11.75", setting a new personal best for the Upland, Calif., native.

Adrianna Reagan also recorded a personal best with her mark of 5'7" which tied for first in the high jump field.

Laura Hamann and Onyx Gaston finished second and third, respectively, in the triple jump producing marks of 36'4.75" and 36'2.75".

Jade Lewis' time of 7.73 in the 60-meter dash was an improvement from last year's meet, while rookie Kiana Clay placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time 57.65.

"Overall I think we got off to a really good start," head coach John Elders said of the team's indoor season opener. "Like any first meet there are ups and downs. We've got a long way to go, and this is a process. We are excited about moving forward through the indoor season to the outdoor season."

On the men's side, junior Edwin Matthews won the high jump with a mark of 6'8.75", while Jacob Ruiz placed first in the pole vault at 15'1".
