Moore Named to the AVCA All-West Region Team

Dec. 10, 2008

Lexington, Kentucky - Cal State Fullerton outside hitter Brittany Moore (Orange, Calif., El Modena HS) became the first Titan volleyball player to ever receive AVCA All-West Region recognition as the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced the eight regional teams Wednesday morning.

Moore is joined on the all-region squad by four other Big West players in Kylie Atherstone (Cal Poly), Jacyln Houston (Cal Poly), Lauren Kellerman (UC Irvine) and Naomi Washington (Long Beach State).

Arguably the best Titan volleyball player to ever play in Titan Gym, Moore was named the 2008 Big West Conference Player of the Year and an all-conference first teamer as she led the Titans to just their fourth winning season since 1976 and also paced the nine team league in kills and kills per set. She also became the school's all-time leader in kills, block assists and attack attempts while missing the all-time total blocking record by just three blocks.

Moore finished her four-year career with the Titans having won five of the program's 12 Big West Player of the Week honors, including a record three in 2008 and was also named a CVU.com Top Performer on two occasions during the season.
