Moore's Final Performance Earns Player of the Week Honors

Dec. 1, 2008

Irvine, Calif. - The 2008 Big West Player of the Year, and all-conference first teamer Brittany Moore added another honor to her collection Monday afternoon as she was named the Big West's Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 30.

Moore (Orange, Calif. / El Modena High School) said goodbye to her Cal State Fullerton volleyball career with a record-tying performance that led the Titans to a win over LMU on the road, snapping a 13-match losing streak (dating back to 1989) to the Lions.

Moore's 23rd and final kill of her career was her 1,534th career kill tying her with Susan Herman who set the Cal State Fullerton career record under the old scoring format 19 years ago. Moore also became the all-time leader in attempts, swinging 4,142 times in her four-year career.

The outside hitter recorded her 18th double-double of the year with 23 kills and 11 digs. It was also her eighth consecutive double-double.

Moore's performance led the Titans to their 17th win of the year (second-most all-time at CSF) and ensured the team a winning season for just the fourth time since 1976.

This was Moore's third player of the week honor this season, and the fifth of her illustrious career. The senior now holds five of the Titans' 12 all-time player of the week awards.
