Fullerton, Calif. - Trevor Johnson has been appointed director of volleyball operations and assistant coach for the women's program at Cal State Fullerton.

Johnson is a former star player and assistant coach at Cal Baptist (`05) and assistant coach at Long Beach City College. He recently earned his masters degree in kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton, where he served as a graduate assistant in the weight room during the 2006-07 school year. He also is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

As a coach, Johnson will fill the void left by the January resignation of Mitch Kallick, who left after three seasons for a post at Maryland.

Johnson currently serves as head coach of Highline 17-Black, a boys' club team in Long Beach. He also is involved with the USA High Performance program with both boys and girls.

Johnson was the all-time assists leader with 3,820 in his career at Cal Baptist in Riverside. He also holds the top two spots for assists in a single match with 74 vs. Rutgers-Newark and 73 vs. Missouri Baptist. He led the NAIA in assists during the 2003-05 seasons, when the Lancers defeated NCAA Div. I teams such as USC, Hawai'i and No. 2-ranked BYU.

Johnson's Long Beach City team was 17-2 and placed third in the state. As an assisant at Cal Baptist, he was part of men's and women's teams that were NAIA national runnersup.

Johnson and his wife, Jane, live in Downey with their infant son, Riley.
