Davis, Calif. - Nicole Read had a match-high 21 kills and Katelyn Astruc posted a career-best 29 digs and four service aces to lead UC Davis to a 24-30, 29-31, 30-20, 30-15, 15-13 come-from-behind win over Cal State Fullerton in a non-conference volleyball match at the Pavilion Thursday evening.

Two of the Aggies' three victories (3-19) this season have come courtesy of the Titans, who fall to 14-8 heading into a Saturday night Big West Conference tilt with Pacific. It was just the second season sweep for the Aggies since their transition to Division I began.

Fullerton, led offensively by Breanna Turdeau (14 kills), Deven Bukoski (12 kills) and Brittany Moore (12 kills and a .314 hitting percentage), took a 2-0 lead over Davis, hitting .300 and .280 in Games One and Two, but never reached .140 the rest of the match. The Titans were out-hit on the match .178 to .114.

Four Aggies, paced by Read's 21, posted kills in double-digits with Chantal Paschetta finished right behind Read with 18, while hitting at a .236 clip. Both Aggies posted double-doubles finishing with 18 and 13 digs respectively.

Fullerton's junior libero Vanessa Vella, broke her own school record for digs in a game with 37 scoops on the night to lead all players. It was the eighth time the Castro Valley-native accumulated 30-or-more digs in a game, and the only person to do it more than once.

The Titans' Brittany Moore led all players with eight blocks on the night, including one solo.

From the line, Astruc and Michelle Nelson each had four service aces as the Aggies got 10 total points off serves. Deven Bukoski and Julie Geissert each tallied two to lead the Titans, who only had six on the night.

Bukoski earned her team-leading 11th double-double of the year, with 12 kills and 14 digs in the losing effort. Trudeau and Geissert also had double-doubles, with the setter Geissert scooping a season-high 15 digs while setting 46 assists.

The Titans return to the court Saturday night at Titan Gym, in the first match of a three-match home stand to wrap up the home portion of the 2006 schedule. Game time is 7 p.m.
