Long Beach, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's early hold on first place in the Big West Conference slipped Saturday night as Long Beach State, behind 17 kills and 11 digs from Caitlin Ledoux, beat the Titans in four sets Saturday night at The Walter Pyramid.

With the 18-25, 20-25, 25-21, 11-25 loss, the Titans fall one game behind UC Santa Barbara and a half game behind UC Davis and Long Beach in the conference standings. The Titans drop their second game in a row and fall to 8-9, 3-2. The 49ers improve to 10-6, 4-2.

The 49ers outhit the Titans .328 to .122 for the match and were led by Ledoux, who hit .324, and Haliegh Hampton (.417), who blasted 13 kills for the home team. Both Jennifer Edmond and Kayla Neto had 13 kills for the Titans. Edmond's .226 attack percentage was among the team leaders.

Long Beach's Lauren Minkle had a match high 19 digs and was one of three that had 10-or-more of the 49ers 63 total digs. Gabrielle Dewberry led for Fullerton with 15 of the team's 49 digs.

Long Beach State held a blocking advantage of 16.5 to 9.0 in winning its 58th consecutive match against Fullerton. Hampton had at least one hand in 10 blocks to lead all players. Leah Best had four for the Titans.

Cal State Fullerton setter Andrea Ragan has 35 assists in the loss, and sits just 8 assists away from tying, and nine away from breaking the school record for a career. She should break Julie Geissert's mark of 3,907 career assists in the Titans' next match.

Pacific and UC Davis will be in Titan Gym next Friday (Oct. 14) and Saturday (Oct. 15), respectively. Both matches will begin at 7 p.m.
