San Luis Obispo, Calif. - Kylie Atherstone's game-high 19 kills paced 24th-ranked Cal Poly to a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference volleyball match at Mott Gym Friday night. The Titans drop their third match in a row and fall to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in league action while the Mustangs improve to 10-7, 4-1.

Jennifer Francisco and Alex Wolnisty led the Fullerton offense with nine kills apiece but the Mustangs out-hit the Titans .327 to .178 as they made quick work of the Titans in the ninety-minute 30-23, 30-27, 30-17 win.

Fullerton did top Cal Poly at the net, out-blocking the Mustangs 5.0-3.5 as a team with Wolnisty again leading the way with three blocks (two solos) to lead all players. Dominique Olowolafe and Ali Waller posted two block assists each to lead the Cal Poly squad.

The Titans best chance of the night came in game number two as they held the Mustangs to just a .163 attack percentage, but the Titans could muster only a .162 offensive attack themselves. Fourteen tie scores and six lead changes later the Cal Poly used a 3-1 run in the final four rallies to take the 2-0 advantage.

Julie Geissert collected 30 assist on the night and surpassed the 3,300 career assist mark to pull within 63 of the No. 2 spot held by former Titan Stephanie Schrieve (1988-1991) and 296 of the top spot held by Kim Levey (1999-2002).

The Titans conclude their three-game road trip with a visit to the campus of UC Santa Barbara to face the Gauchos at the Thunderdome Saturday night. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
