ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.  – Cal State Fullerton Women's Volleyball opened up the 2022 season with a sweep over Abilene Christian Friday afternoon at the Lobo Invitational. 

The Titans battled back from down four midway through the first set to win 27-25. Julia Crawford led the way for the Titans offensively in the first set with six kills on 12 attacks for an impressive .500 attacking percentage. 

Fullerton carried its momentum into the second set, cruising to a 25-15 victory. The Titans started the set on a 8-1 run which included a 5-0 run. 

The third and final set went back-and-forth throughout. With the score tied at 22-22 the Titans went on a 3-0 to complete the sweep. Danielle Jefferies recorded two of the final three kills before freshman Bianca Martinez closed out the match. 

Crawford finished the match with a game-high 16 kills on 36 attempts for a .444 attacking percentage. Elizabeth Schuster recorded a game-high 37 assists along with a tied for game-high 16 digs along with freshman Nadia Koanui. 

Fullerton is back in action later Friday evening in game two of the Lobo Invitational against host New Mexico. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m. PT.
