FULLERTON, Calif. – Madeline Schneider strung together her second double-digit kill performance, but it wasn't enough is Long Beach State defeated Cal State Fullerton 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-20) on Tuesday evening inside Titan Gym.
Every set was competitive, but the Titans (4-17, 0-8 Big West) just could climb over the hump. Schneider put up a team-best 15 kills while earning four digs. Cady Francis led the team in digs for a third straight night with 13, while Nastassja Bowman put together her team-leading ninth double-double of the year, recording 35 assists and 11 digs.
I just wasn't meant to be on Tuesday, as the Titans kept things close throughout, but Long Beach State (6-15, 3-5 Big West) put together a superb .412 hitting performance in the opening set, ultimately leading to a 25-22 win. The Titans once again kept things competitive in set number two, never trailing by more than four points until the end. The 49ers hung on to win 25-29.
However, as they've done all year long, the Titans never gave in. In fact, Fullerton jumped out to a 7-3 advantage before eventually falling 25-20.
The Titans now hit the road, as they'll play at Hawai'i at 10 pm PT.
