TERRE HAUTE, Ind.—The Titans competed in every set, but didn't have enough to get by Eastern Illinois, dropping a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-17) decision Saturday morning inside ISU Arena.
For Fullerton (4-8), the match marks the end of non-conference play, as the Titans will host CSUN, Tuesday at 7 pm PT in the Big West season opener.
Shimen Fayad and Jayla Norman led the way for Fullerton, as each recorded a match-high equaling 10 kills. Savahna Costello recorded a team-high 13 digs. Norman led the Titans with a .318 attack percentage.
Fayad and Alayne Thompson each recorded three block assists.
The two teams went back and forth in the opening set, as the Titans actually outhit Eastern Illinois, but EIU was able to edge out a 25-22 win.
The story was similar in the second set, as EIU duplicated its opening set performance, earning a 25-22 second set victory before finishing the match off with a 25-17 third set victory.
The Titans will get back to work on Tuesday vs. CSUN.
