SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.  – Taylor Gruenewald led the Cal Poly women's volleyball team with a match-high 20 kills as the  Mustangs swept Cal State Fullerton 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-21) at Mott Athletics Center on Saturday night in Big West Conference action.

With the loss, the Titans (6-22, 1-13 BWC) have now lost 13 consecutive matches dating back to Sept. 28.

For Cal Poly (17-8, 10-4 BWC), the Mustangs remain in third place in the Big West standings.

As a team, Cal Poly hit .242 as Taylor Nelson led the offense with 39 assists. In addition, Adlee Van Winden totaled 11 kills and Katherine Brouker had 15 digs.

Cal State Fullerton was led by Madeline Schneider's seven kills, while Kyra Smith added six kills and two block assists. Rachel Hall delivered 21 assists and Madisen Babich had 15 digs.

Fullerton only led once in the entire match as Shimen Fayad's kill gave the Titans a 1-0 lead to start the second set. Cal Poly scored the next three points in the game.

Cal State Fullerton will return to action on Friday at Titan Gym hosting Long Beach State at 7 p.m. The 49ers are currently second in the Big West standings. Fullerton's season will end on Saturday at CSUN.
