LONG BEACH, Calif. – In a rare Tuesday night match, the Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-20) loss at Long Beach State in Big West Conference action at Walter Pyramid.
The Titans (6-18, 1-9 BWC) have lost nine matches in a row and have been swept in their last two against the top two teams in the league.
Long Beach State (16-8, 10-1 BWC) was led by Nele Barber's double-double of 14 kills and 18 digs – both match highs. Barber also hit .448 for the match as the 49ers hit .376 as a team.
Ashley Murray added 11 kills for LBSU while Missy Owens guided the offense with 39 assists and Kjersti Norveel had five block assists as the 49ers totaled seven stuffs as a team.
Shimen Fayad recorded a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs for the Titans along with a service ace, while Annie Ellis produced 19 assists and Madisen Babich added 11 digs.
The Titans hit just .103 (25-14-107) as a team.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Friday at UC Riverside with a 7 p.m. start from SRC Arena. The Titans return home to Titan Gym at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8 to host CSUN.
Notes: Cal State Fullerton is 4-20 in the first set this season…the Titans have been swept nine times this season.
