No. 13 Hawai’i Sweeps Fullerton
HONOLULU  – The No. 13 Hawai'i women's volleyball team won its fifth consecutive match with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) sweep over Cal State Fullerton in Big West Conference action on Friday night at Stan Sheriff Center in front of 6,537.

The Rainbow Wahine (10-4, 3-0 BWC) remain undefeated in league play after hitting .284 in the match led by Annie Mitchem and Kirsten Sibley as the pair produced nine kills apiece. Nikki Taylor added eight kills, four digs and a match-leading five blocks, and Norene Iosia directed the offense with 25 assists.

The Titans (6-11, 1-2 BWC) hit -.022 in the match as UH totaled eight team blocks.

Shimen Fayad led the Titans with seven kills, six digs and four blocks while Kyra Smith added five kills, hitting .400 (5-1-10) with three blocks. Madeline Schneider also added five blocks, while Rachel Hall directed traffic with 14 assists. Torrey Tinney totaled 12 digs.

Cal State Fullerton will return to Titan Gym hosting three consecutive home matches beginning at 3 p.m., Saturday as UC Davis visits for an ESPN3 broadcast.

Notes: Cal State Fullerton has been swept six times in 2016…Hawai'i leads the all-time series 36-0…in the three match set, Fullerton held the lead once in the second set as the Titans opened the game scoring the first three points.
