CSF Fall Intercollegiates - Day 1 Results

Defending champions Suzie Matzenauer in Flight A and Jocelyn Davis in Flight B helped Cal Poly advance five players to the quarterfinal round of the 2009 Cal State Fullerton Fall Intercollegiates on Friday at the Titan Courts on campus.

The host Titans struggled in the main draw on day one as freshman Monica Rodriguez was the only player to win a match on the tournament's opening day, defeating Cal State Los Angeles' Lana Lamesic in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) in the first round before falling to Cal State Northridge's Brooke Doane, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Play continues in the tournament on Saturday morning (Oct. 10) at 9 a.m. with doubles competition while singles play follows at 10 a.m. on the Titan Courts.
