FULLERTON, CA - Visiting UC Davis claimed the doubles point early and won five of the six singles matches in straight sets on Saturday afternoon as the Aggies ended Cal State Fullerton's two-match winning streak with a 7-0 victory at the Titan Courts.

The Titans fell to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play, losing for the first time during their six-match homestand, while UC Davis improved to 6-2 overall and won its Big West Conference opener.

Fullerton's only victory on the day came at No. 2 doubles as Morgan McIntosh and Megan Sandford teamed up for an 8-4 win over Dahra Zamudio and Nicole Koehly. However, the Aggies posted an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles and an 8-3 victory at the No. 3 spot to take the early 1-0 lead in the match.

UC Davis then went on to sweep singles play, with the Titans coming close at the No. 6 singles spot as Monica Rodriguez and Melissa Kobayakawa split the first two sets by identical 6-3 scores before Kobayakawa won the tiebreak, 10-7. McIntosh also came close to forcing a tiebreak at the No. 2 spot, but Zamudio pulled out a 6-3, 7-5, victory.

Cal State Fullerton returns to the court on Thursday (Feb. 24) at 2 p.m. as the Titans host Loyola Marymount at the Titan Courts.
