Women’s Tennis Announces Two New Signings

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton Women's Tennis Head Coach Trang Huynh-McClain announced the signing of two incoming freshmen to the roster. 

Sein Myoung of South Korea and Josie Usereau of Canada are the latest editions to the Titans women's roster that had two seniors graduate in Camila Garcia and Megan Tagaloa.  Myoung and Usereau will be joining Seha Yu in the freshman class for the 2023-24 season

Trang Huynh-McClain said that "I'm excited to welcome Sein and Josie as they join our team. Their characters align with our culture and will be a great addition to our team dynamic. They both have competed at a high level and will have an immediate impact on our team. I'm eager to see their continued development with our program."

Sein Myoung comes to the Titans from Gyeonggi-do Seongnam-si, South Korea.  Her highest ITF junior ranking was 158 and her highest UTR was 9.77.   Myoung was the third highest U-18 ranked player in South Korea.  She has won multiple junior titles in her country including the J5 Yanggu Singles and J4 Yanggu Singles championship.  She has also won the JB1 Osan Doubles, J4 Dededo Doubles, and J4 Sunchang Doubles championship.

Josie Usereau comes to the Titans from Saint-Michel, Quebec, Canada.  Usereau's highest ITF junior ranking was 552.  She also comes to the Titans with multiple finals and championships under her belt.  She is a two time U18 Doubles national champion, the ITF J5 Montreal doubles champion, the ITF J4 Burlington doubles champion, and the ITF J5 San Jose doubles champion.  She also won the ITF J5 San Jose Singles championship.  She was also a runner up in the U18 single nationals, the ITF J200 woodbridge doubles, the ITF J3 Zapopan doubles, and the ITF J5 Montreal singles. 

The Titans went 15-8 and 6-3 in conference play in head coach Trang Huynh-McClain's first year at the helm of the program.
