IRVINE, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team had three student-athletes earn Big West All-Conference accolades, the conference announced Thursday.
Zoe Olmos was selected to the All-Big West First Team. Olmos went 11-5 overall in singles play this year for the Titans. She mainly played either No. 1 or No. 2 in singles. Olmos went 6-2 in the No. 1 spot and 5-3 in the No. 2 spot. She also went 5-3 in Big West play. One of Olmos's biggest wins of the season came on the road against CSUN. Olmos dropped the first before winning the second set and dominating the third set to clinch the match winning point for the Titans.
Natalie Duffy was selected to the All-Big West Second Team. Duffy went 10-8 overall in singles this year. Duffy was either in the No. 1 or No. 2 spot in singles play. Duffy was 4-4 in the No. 1 spot and 6-4 as the No. 2 singles player. Duffy went 3-6 overall in singles play in the Big West. One of Duffy's biggest wins of the year came on the road at Cal Poly where she defeated Cal Poly's No. 1 player 7-5, 6-4.
The doubles pairing of Natalie Duffy and Camila Garcia were given All-Big West Honorable Mention honors. The pairing was ranked at one point #63 by the ITA. They were the Titans No. 1 pairing where they went 7-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play. This is the second year that both players were given some conference recognition. Last year, Duffy and YuSeung Suh were given All-Big West Honorable Mention honors. Camila Garcia and Eira Tobrand were named to the All-Big West First Team last year.
The Titans finished the season 15-8 overall and 6-3 in conference play. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals against Long Beach State in the Big West Championships.
