NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team bounced back from a loss at home against Long Beach State with a big 4-3 win on the road over the CSUN Matadors at the Matadors Tennis Complex.
The Titans improved to 12-6 on the season and 4-2 in Big West play.
The Titans played from behind once again as they dropped the doubles point. The Titans lost the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairing to the Matadors to put CSUN up one point ahead early.

1. Coetzee, Jolene/Ho, Angela (CSUN) vs. Natalie Duffy/Mariia Nikitash (CSF) 4-3, unfinished

In singles play, the Titans rattled off three straight wins in singles to take a 3-1 lead over the Matadors. Milena Gevorgyan won her No. 4 singles match 6-3, 6-4 over Angela Ho. Kaytlin Taylor defeated Emma Moratalla Sanz in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Diana Yanotovskaya won her No. 3 singles match over Yuliia Zhytelna 0-6, 6-2, 6-3. The Matadors got one point back when Sasha Turchak defeated Natalie Duffy 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-5) in a closely fought match. However, Zoe Olmos clinched the match point for the Titans when she won in No. 1 singles over Jolene Coetzee 4-6, 7-5, 4-0. Her opponent had to retire in the third and final set to give the Titans the match point.

The Titans will head up to the central coast next weekend to take on Cal Poly on Saturday and UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.
