LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team put up a fight but fell to the Trojans of USC in Los Angeles this Saturday.

In a close doubles match, Camila Garcia and Jadie Acidera were unable to come out on top against the USC pair, Kulikov and Cayetano 6-4.

Followed by the completion of the first match, the Titans hung on tight to try and capture the doubles point, but unfortanately was unable to as Eira Tobrand and Misaki Kobayashi finished their match 5-7. Which secured the doubles point for the Trojans. 

In singles play, Court 2, Eira Tobrand was the first to go down in straight sets followed by Juliette Daries giving the Trojans a 3-0 lead. The pressure was on for the Titans to try and stay in the match with the reamaining four singles matches. 

Misaki Kobayashi on Court 1 started out behind in her match, down 0-2, but was able to make a comeback and take the first set 6-3 and then split sets in the second. Down on Court 6 Camila Garcia was in a back and forth battle after quickly losing the first set and winning the second one with a 7-5 score. The Titans seemed to be gaining traction in their matches but it wasn't enough to defeat the Trojans. 

On Court 4, the match was decided after Natalie Duffy lost to her opponent, 2-6, 4-6 which then suspended all other matches in play.

The Titans will be back on the road on Friday, Feb. 12th to take on San Diego.
