FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans were able to win against Concordia for their first match of the season this Thursday.
The first win of the season in doubles play came from Camila Garcia and YuSeung Suh. Facing Concordia's duo of Tumosa and Richards, the two Titans were able to win 6-3.
A few minutes later, it was Jadie Acidera and Taylor Valenzuela that gave Fullerton a 1-0 advantage in the first match of the season.
Not too long after, Eira Tobrand and Misaki Kobayashi captured another win, 6-4, after the doubles point had already been secured.
In singles play, Misaki Kobayashi handled business and was the first one to finish her match. Kobayashi gave the Titans their second point of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 win on Court 2. This was Misaki's first appearance as a Titan since she was out with an injury last season.
Camila Garcia won in straight sets as well on Court 6 as she won 6-2, 6-1 against her opponent.
The final point to secure the win for the Titans didn't come long after Camila's win. Freshman, Natalie Duffy, showed out in her first college match and defeated Heather Richards on Court 4 with the score of 6-1, 6-3.
Eira Tobrand on Court 1 split sets in a tough battle with a final score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-10 (tiebreaker).
YuSeung Suh had a close match but fell to her opponent, 4-6, 5-7.
With the last match on, freshman, Juliette Daries kept fighting all of the way until the end in a third set tiebreaker, but was unable to come out on top with a score of 4-6, 7-5, 7-10 (tiebreaker).

EXTRA MATCHES
Natalie Duffy and Juliette Daries paired up to play an extra match in doubles against the Eagles and lost 4-6 in a close match.
Taylor Valenzuela also participated in extra play with a singles match score of 4-6, 1-6.
UP NEXT
The Titans will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 6th as the team will take the road to Los Angeles. They will be playing against the Trojans of USC.
