The Titans to Host Hawai'i

The Titans to Host Hawai'i

Fullerton, Calif. – Fullerton will host Big West 2018 Champions, Hawai'i, this Tuesday at 1:30pm P.T. in a rematch of last year's Big West Championship Finals.

After a weekend marked by the rain causing Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State to reschedule their dual, the Titans will be back on the courts this Tuesday, March 5th at 1:30pm P.T. for their second conference play of the season.

THE TITANS
Cal State Fullerton (4-2) was finally able to start a winning streak last week after blanking Azusa Pacific 7-0 at home to make it two wins in a row.

Before Azusa Pacific, the Titans picked up a 5-1 win for their conference opener against UC Davis.

The Titans own a 1-0 record in Big West Conference play as the dual against UC Davis was their one and only conference dual played so far.
The Titans look good at home as they dropped only one match to San Diego State University, and won three matches, against UC San Diego, UC Davis and Azusa Pacific.

Jadie Acidera is still undefeated in dual matches as she is 5-0 at position No.6.
Karla Portalatin is on a 3-win streak and is undefeated at No.2 with two wins and no loss.
Caisey Lee Emery, Luxizi Meng, Karla Portalatin and Eira Tobrand all match the team's record in dual matches, 4-2.

OPPONENT
The Hawai'i Rainbow Wahines are the 2018 Big West Champions.
Hawai'i (3-3) is coming to Fullerton to play their third conference dual match of the season.

The Rainbow Wahines sit second in the Big West rankings right behind Long Beach State as they are 2-0 after dominating CSUN 4-3 and UC Irvine 6-1.

However, the team compiled three losses in a row in the past few weeks.

They dropped two matches during their stay in San Diego: 2-5 against San Diego State and 3-4 against University of San Diego. The Rainbow Wahines also lost 1-4 against USC last Sunday.

HISTORY
The last time Fullerton and Hawai'i met was for last year's Big West 2018 Championship match at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens. The Rainbow Wahines took the title back then, dominating the Titans 4-1.

During the same 2018 season, the Titans won the regular season match in Hawai'i 4-3.

The two programs played 24 matches against each other. The Wahines come out on top with 18 wins and only 6 losses.
