SAN DIEGO, Calif. – It wasn't the best of days for the Titans, as they won't be moving on in the main draw of ITA West Regionals, as they dropped their matches on Thursday in San Diego. The Titans are looking to bounce back tomorrow, Friday, as they will compete in extra matches.
In doubles play, the duo of Luxizi Meng and Caisey Lee Emery lost their game against the Hawaii doubles team of Melounova and Resma. The Titans fought well but came short at the end resulting in a 5-8 loss.
Petra Such was the first Titan to begin singles play. She was not able to beat Tracy Van of UC Riverside and ended losing the game 7-6, 6-4.
Lee Emery and Meng could not bounce back after their doubles match loss. Meng was defeated 6-1, 6-2 by Maria Tyrina of University of San Diego. Lee Emery pushed her opponent Csenge Faruk of University of Arizona to a third set but was not able to win it. The final result was in favor or Faruk 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
The weekend is not over as Meng, Such and Lee Emery will play extra matches this Friday. Thursday's full results and this Friday's schedule are listed below.
