LOS ANGELES – The Titans recoreded three wins one the opening day of the USC Invitational Tournament on Friday.
In singles play, the Titans were facing USC and picked up two out of the five single matches played. Karla Portalatin fought hard to win a three-set game against USC's Angela Kuliov 2-6,7-5,10-7. Masako Makiba took down Arizona's Taylor Tamblyn in straight sets 7-5, 6-1.
Genevieve Zeidan, Sarah Nuno, Eira Tobrand and Luxizi Meng all suffered a two-set loss against USC opponents.
The third win for Fullerton this Friday came from doubles games facing Loyola Marymount University. Nuno and Zeidan teamed up and blanked their opponent De Lucas and Gaisina with a 6-0 win. The other Cal State Fullerton team of Portalatin and Masako Makiba came short 4-6 against the other LMU doubles team
