Alexis Valenzuela joined the women's tennis team as a volunteer coach in 2017.

Alexis Valenzuela entered her second year as a volunteer coach.

During her first year as a volunteer coach, Alexis participated in the record-breaking year of her former teammates. The Titans went 20-6 (.769) breaking last year’s program record for the number of wins. They earned No.3 seed after the regular season and played the program first-ever Big West Championship game but came short against the University of Hawaii for the conference title.

2016-2017 season served as Valenzuela's senior year where she had a record-breaking year.  Valenzuela went 17-4 overall in singles play, her 17 dual singles wins are the most for the program since prior to 2001. Her six Big West singles victories are the most for the program since prior to 2001 as well. She went 21-5 in doubles play with partner Camille De Leon. Valenzuela earned Big West Athlete of the Week twice during her senior campaign, Feb. 1 and Mar. 8. Valenzuela boasts a 55-15 record in dual singles matches, including a 17-10 mark in the Big West Conference and a 51-13 career record when playing at the top of the order.
