FULLERTON, Calif. --- Cal State Fullerton is off to its best start in program history, as no other Titan team before has opened the season with six consecutive victories.

This week, the Titans will host UC Riverside (0-3, 0-2 BWC) at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Titan Tennis Courts in Fullerton's Big West Conference opener.

NEWS & NOTES
Last week, Fullerton traveled to the Bay Area and picked up a 5-1 victory at San Francisco, as well as, a 4-0 win at Santa Clara.

Senior Alexis Valenzuela remains unbeaten at 5-0 in singles play, and is now 45-14 in her dual match singles career.

Fellow senior Camille De Leon is also undefeated in singles action at 4-0, and boasts a career singles mark of 46-25 at Fullerton.

As a group, the Titans singles record is 24-6 (.800) in 2017, and Fullerton's doubles record is 11-3 (.786).

Fullerton has yet to lose the doubles point this season.

OPPONENTS
Dating back to 2000, Cal State Fullerton leads the all-time series with UC Riverside, 16-5. In addition, the Titans have won 11 straight matches against the Highlanders. UCR's last win vs. the Titans was a 5-2 victory in Fullerton on April 9, 2009.

AWARD SEASON
Cal State Fullerton sophomore Sarah Nuno went a combined 3-0 in singles and doubles play to earn this week's Big West Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week award, it was announced by the league on Wednesday.
Nuno overcame a first set loss to Joselyn Treyes Albar, but rebounded to win the match against her Dons counterpart, prevailing 6-7 (5), 6-0, 6-3.
Against Santa Clara, she blanked Zeina El Tawil, 6-0, 6-0.  She helped the Titans capture the doubles point with Portalatin, as the duo took care of El Tawil and Nabila Farah, 6-2.  Nuno is 4-1 on the season in both singles and doubles.
The athlete of the week award was the first for Nuno during her Titan career.

Senior Alexis Valenzuela was voted the Big West Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league on Feb. 1.
She posted three singles victories as the Titans swept UC San Diego, the No. 13-ranked team in Division II, as well as San Diego State (4-0) and San Diego (4-3) on the road.
She has been named the Big West Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week four times during her career.
