IRVINE, Calif.  – Following a record-setting season for the Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team, third-year head coach Dianne Matias was voted the Big West Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year, while Camille De Leon, Alexis Valenzuela and Sarah Nuno were also honored.

For the third consecutive year, Valenzuela, the Titans' No. 1 singles player, was named to the Big West Conference Singles First Team, while CSF's No. 1 doubles team of De Leon and Valenzuela also garnered First Team honors. In her rookie season, Nuno received singles honorable mention accolades.

Matias, in just her third-year with the program, led Cal State Fullerton to its most wins (17-6), most Big West Conference victories (6-2), best Big West Conference finish (3rd) and greatest winning percentage (.739) in program history.

In addition, the Titans were ranked at No. 67 for one week in the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Women's Rankings, while Fullerton put together its first winning season since 2004.

The Titans also snapped a 20-match losing streak to UC Irvine and a 29-match losing streak to San Diego State.

Furthermore, Fullerton compiled an eight-match win streak from Feb. 3 – March 7, the longest for the program on record dating back to 1981.

On the awards side, the Titans won four Big West Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Awards during the season, again setting a new program record.

Fullerton ended the season with an 89-45 (.664) record in singles play and a 37-16 (.698) mark in doubles action, both program bests.

Matias is the second Titan coach to garner Big West Conference Coach of the Year honors as former Fullerton head coach Bill Reynolds shared the award in 2013.

For the third consecutive year, Valenzuela was voted to the Big West Conference Singles First Team. Prior to her freshman season in 2014, not one Titan had ever earned singles first team honors.

In her three-year career with the Titans, Valenzuela boasts a 40-14 record in dual singles matches, including a 13-9 mark in the Big West Conference and a 37-12 career record when playing at the top of the order. In dual doubles play, the native of West Covina, Calif., holds a 43-18 dual match record with a 15-8 mark in Big West play and a 14-2 record at the top of the doubles order.

This season, Valenzuela's 17 dual singles wins are the most for the program since prior to 2001. In addition, her six Big West singles victories are the most for the program since prior to 2001.

For the third straight season De Leon received Big West Conference doubles honors, this year named to the First Team paired with Valenzuela. The duo is just the second Titan team in program history to receive first team accolades following Roseanne Alva and Kelli Moore in 1991.

The junior duo is currently ranked 52nd in the nation and finished the season with a record of 14-2 in doubles play at the top of the lineup, including a 6-1 record in Big West Conference action. No Titan No. 1 doubles team has reached 14 dual victories or six Big West Conference victories since prior to 2001.

De Leon and Valenzuela won the doubles point in 11 of the 15 matches this season when the Titans took the doubles point.

In her three years as a Titan, De Leon boasts a 36-23 record in dual doubles action, including 14-8 in the Big West.

Sarah Nuno completed her freshman campaign with a 14-9 dual match singles record playing at the No. 1 (2-0), No. 2 (8-9) and No. 3 (4-4) spots in the order. Against Big West competition, she finished her rookie season with a record of 4-4.

Long Beach State's Maeva Razakasoa earned her second career Player of the Year accolade and Marina Hruba of Hawai'i took home Freshman of the Year hardware.
