Complete 2009 All-Big West Conference Teams 
Three Cal State Fullerton softball players were named to the All-Big West First Team to headline a group of six Titans on the conference honor roll as the league announced its 2009 all-conference honors on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Lauren Lupinetti along with sophomores Ari Cervantes and Torrie Anderson earned first-team laurels, senior Courtney Martinez was a second-team selection, while freshman Krystal Heinle and junior Francesca Gonzales were honorable mention choices.
The three first team selections are the most for Fullerton since the coaches selected four Titans in 2007 and increased the school's total to 77 in the history of the program - the most of any school in Big West history.
Lupinetti earned her third all-conference honor in as many seasons, but was named to the first team for the first time in her career. She has started 47 of 48 contests behind the plate this season, batting .260 (including a .328 in Big West play) with four home runs and 20 RBI.
Cervantes and Anderson earned their first all-conference honors in only their second seasons in Titan uniforms.
After appearing in only 11 games as a freshman, Cervantes emerged as the ace of the Fullerton staff, posting a 19-10 overall record and a 2.15 ERA while holding opponents to a .239 average. She ranks among the Big West's best in numerous categories including ERA (7th), opponent batting average (9th), innings (2nd), strikeouts (5th), wins (2nd), and saves (1st).
Anderson has been an offensive force at the top of the lineup all season, entering this weekend's regionals with a .279 average, 10 home runs, and 34 RBI. She ranks seventh in the league in slugging (.526), tied for fifth in RBI, and tied for second in home runs.
In her final collegiate season, Martinez also earned her first career all-conference honor after batting a team-best .323 with five home runs, nine other extra base hits, and 13 RBI. Her 20 runs scored are second on the team entering the postseason.
Heinle and Gonzales earned their first career all-conference honors at the Division I level. Heinle posted a 10-7 overall record in the circle with a 2.75 ERA an a .228 average against, but really shined in conference play where she was 6-2 with a 1.64 ERA and a .175 average against. She ranks sixth in the league in opponents batting average, ninth in strikeouts (91), and ninth in wins.
Gonzales, a two-time NFCA California JC All-American at Mt. San Antonio College, also shined in her first season at the Division I level, batting .315 with nine doubles, 10 home runs and 24 RBI. Her .582 slugging percentage is fourth-best in the league while she is also tied for second in home runs.
Cal State Fullerton begins its 25th NCAA Tournament appearance on Friday afternoon (May 15) at 2:30 p.m. as the Titans take on No. 23 LSU in the opening game of the Tempe Regional at Farrington Stadium in Arizona. The game will be nationally televised by ESPNU.
