Titans Softball adds Three Transfers to Roster

FULLERTON, Calif.  - Head Coach Kelly Ford and the Cal State Fullerton softball program have welcomed three new transfers to the Titans softball program. The group consists of two outfielders and one infielder.  All three players are native Southern Californians who are coming back home after playing elsewhere in the past couple of seasons.

"These three athletes will bring a shot of adrenaline to Titan softball. Outside of their athleticism, power, speed and outstanding softball skill set, I am most looking forward to the contributions they will make to our team culture." said head coach Kelly Ford.

Candace Yingling
Infielder | Temecula, Calif. | CAL University / Great Oaks High School

Candace graduated from CAL in 2023 with a degree in legal studies. She batted .223 with 4 home runs, 20 RBIs, and 15 runs in over three seasons with the Bears. She redshirted the 2023 season and will have two years of eligibility left. Candace graduated from Great Oaks High School in 2020.  She was named to the First Team All-Southwestern League twice and the Second Team once.  She was named to the Second Team Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass Team, First Team All-CIF Southern Section (Division 1), Three-time All-Inland Empire, 2019 Softball Factory Preseason All-American Tournament Standout Player.  She led all hitting categories in the Southwestern League batting .547 with 10 HR and 24 RBI, breaking the freshman home run record at Vista Murrieta High School and had 26 career home runs. She was born in Long Beach, California to Ed and Lynn Yingling. She has one sibling, Brock. She will be enrolled in Cal State Fullerton's grad school program to get a master's degree in business administration.

She chose to come to Cal State Fullerton because she enjoyed the program's history, the coaching staff, outstanding facilities, and the location of the campus.   She also wanted to get her master's degree and finish her softball career in a wonderful location.

"Candace has an incredibly high Softball IQ.  I'm most excited about seeing her bash the ball around Anderson Family Field. Her offense will make a huge impact on Titan Softball." said head coach Kelly Ford.

She chose to come to Cal State Fullerton because it was close to home.  "I felt that it was a great fit for me to grow as a person and player and it was important that my family could come watch me play in my final year," said Favre.

"Savannah has a proven record of production at the Division I level. She has speed, power and incredible reads on defense. The players that already know her are excited for her to join the squad." said Head Coach Kelly Ford.

Kristalyn Romulo
Outfielder | Cerritos, Calif. | Oregon State University / Gahr High School

Kristalyn appeared in 55 games for the Beavers, mainly as a pinch runner.  She crossed the plate 22 times and was 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts. Kristalyn played four years of varsity softball for the Gladiators and graduated from Gahr High School in 2021.  She batted over .300 in both her junior and senior year.  She played Club Softball for the Ohana Tigers.

She was born in Long Beach, California to George and Jacqueline Romulo.  She has two younger siblings, Jasmyn and Isaiah.

Kristalyn chose to come to Cal State Fullerton because " it's much closer to home and she could be closer to her family," also because her uncle Anthony Trajano played baseball for the Titans in 2011-12 and he inspired her to play softball when she was younger.  She loved the family and community aspect of Fullerton and is grateful to experience that for her final two seasons of eligibility.

"Kris is going to bring some much needed speed to our program. I'm excited about her love for the game and passion to elevate this program.," said Kelly Ford.
