LONG BEACH, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (14-9) ended their weekend with a strong, 7-2 victory over No. 22 UCF on Saturday morning. With the win, the Titans have now defeated four ranked opponents this season.

UCF got the scoring started in the bottom half of the first as the first two batters tripled and singled, respectively, to plate the first run of the ballgame.

However, the Titans would answer in the top half of the second plating two runs. Pinch runner, Jasmyn Vigilante, would tie the game stealing third and coming in on an errant throw on the play while Alyssa Hernandez launched her first career home run with a solo shot to left, giving the TItans a 2-1 lead.

After a scoreless third, Fullerton would come up with two more in the fourth on RBI singles from Julia Valenzuela and Megan Delgadillo.

Dani Martinez settled in after the first inning run, retiring 9 of the next 12 UCF hitters before facing some issues in the fifth. She finished with 4.2 innings pitched, allowing two runs on five hits and five walks while striking out three picking up her sixth victory on the year.

The Knights would rally and push a run across in the fifth, but Sophie Frost would come out of the bullpen and induce a flyout to end the inning and escape a bases loaded jam.

Fullerton would immediately get the run back in the sixth on Delgadillo's second RBI single of the day and then plate two more runs in the seventh on a squeeze play and Daisy Munoz RBI single.

After missing the doubleheader yesterday, Delgadillo had a nice day going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base. Hernandez went 2-for-3 on the day adding a single to go along with her home run.

Cal State Fullerton is back in action next weekend as they host the final tournament of the season with the Easton Invitational.
