LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (12-8) dropped their first game of the weekend, 5-1, against No. 16 Michigan after giving up all five runs in the top of the seventh. It is just the second time this season, the Titans have lost a game after leading at the end of the sixth.
It was a pitchers' dual through the first six innings as Sophie Frost and Dani Martinez combined to shutdown the Michigan offense while Meghan Beaubien allowed just one run on three hits while striking out 11 Titans.
The lone run through six came in the fourth as Daisy Munoz blasted a solo shot to left-center giving the Titans a 1-0 lead. With the blast, Munoz has now homered in her last three games in Easton Stadium.

After a leadoff single and a one-out walk in the top of the seventh, an RBI single through the right side tied the game up at one. From there, the game would unravel as the Wolverines plated four more runs to pull out to a 5-1 lead.
The Titans could not respond against Beaubien in the bottom half going down in order and falling, 5-1, to No. 16 Michigan.
Frost had an outstanding night in the circle totaling 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out three Wolverines.
Cal State Fullerton is back in action tomorrow with an early morning doubleheader against No. 18/19 Minnesota and San Diego State. First pitch of the day is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the LBSU Softball Complex.
