FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton notched their fourth straight victory taking down Boise State, 3-1, on day two of the Judi Garman Classic. It is the longest win streak of the season thus far.
Boise State got their offense going right away loading the bases in the top of the first. However, Dani Martinez (5 IP, 5 H, R, 3 BB, K) did a fantastic job limiting the damage to just one run.
The Titans would answer in the bottom of the first with a run of their own taking advantage of a Boise error.
While Martinez settled in in the circle, the offense gave her a pair of runs and the lead in the third. An RBI groundout from Zoe Richard gave the Titans a lead and Daisy Munoz followed that with an RBI single to provide some insurance.
The sophomore right-hander cruised into the sixth before the Broncos put a pair of runners on causing Coach Ford to go to the bullpen.
Trish Parks would come out of the pen facing a two-on, one out jam. That would be no problem for the right-hander as she induced a pair of weak ground balls to end the inning unscathed.
Boise State would end up loading the bases in the top of the seventh, but Parks would bear down and get a swing-and-miss to end the ballgame.
Cal State Fullerton will continue their busy weekend at the Judi Garman Classic with a 7:30pm matchup with Illinois.
