LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Freshman Dani Martinez and senior Ari Williams have earned NFCA All-West Region honors. Martinez takes home a Second Team Selection while Williams is named to the Third Team.
This marks the fifth straight year, Cal State Fullerton has had multiple All-Region recipients.
Martinez took over as the ace of the staff this season leading the team in appearances, innings, wins, ERA, opponent batting average, and strikeotus. Her .175 opponent batting average is the lowest by a Titan pitcher since 2003 and she is just third pitcher to lead the team with a sub-2.00 ERA. This is the 11th accolade this season for the right-hander adding to her Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Week, All-Big West First Team selection, All-Freshman Team selection, two Pitcher of the Week awards, and five Freshman of the Week awards.
Williams finished off her Titan career with her best season yet posting career-bests in almost every offensive category to go along with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in center. Her .380 batting average is the highest by a Fullerton hitter since 2015 and she became the first Titan to reach base in every Big West Conference game since 2002. The Moreno Valley native collects her sixth accolade of the season after being named Big West Player of the Year, All-Big West First Team, and three Player of the Week awards.
