FULLERTON, Calif. – Senior Ari Williams and freshman Alexa Neil both earned weekly Big West Awards for their performances in Arizona. Williams was named Field Player of the Week and Neil earned the Big West's second-ever Freshman of the Week honor.
For Williams, it is her second career Player of the Week Award. The center fielder posted a .563 batting average (9-16) with three home runs and nine RBI over the team's five games in Tucson.
She posted at least one hit and multiple RBI in each of the first four games of the weekend including a 4-4 performance with three RBI against New Mexico. She followed that up with a walk-off triple against South Florida in their next game.
For Neil, she takes home her first career Big West honor in the conference's second week of having a Freshman of the Week award. The Titan leadoff hitter reached based two-plus times in each of the five games at the Hillenbrand Invitational and has done so now in seven straight games.
Overall, she sported a .500 batting average (7-14) and a .611 on-base percentage in Tucson. She also had the game-winning RBI in Friday's win over Illinois-Chicago and the game-tying RBI in Saturday's win walk-off win over South Florida.
The Titans are back in action on Wednesday as they play host to San Diego State at Anderson Family Field. First pitch will be at 6:00 p.m.
