FULLERTON, Calif. – With less than a month until first pitch, Titans softball welcomes eleven newcomers to the program and this series goes "in the dugout" with each of them to get to know who they are. Next up is pitcher, Dani Martinez.
Martinez is a 5'7" right-hander from Bellflower, California. She joins the Titans after a fantastic career at Richard Gahr High School in Cerritos. As a Gladiator, she was a four-year letter winner and earned a good share of accolades in her career. She was named the San Gabriel Valley League Pitcher of the Year twice, named to the Press Telegram Dream Team three times, and was selected to the First Team All-League three times. In her junior season, she set the school record for most wins in a season. Overall, she helped her team win the SGVL Championship all four years and helped the Gladiators to a DI runner-up finish as well.
"Dani is gritty," said head coach Kelly Ford. "I love her competitive spirit in the circle. She doesn't know losing and that expectation will absolutely elevate our pitching staff. She is a winner."
Dani is the daughter of Jesse and Lisa Martinez and has two older siblings, Isaiah and Jesseca. When asked why she chose to be a Titan, she said everything made her feel right at home.

The season starts in just 30 days with Fullerton hosting the Titan Classic. The first game will be on Thursday, Feb. 7 against Idaho State at Anderson Family Field.
