FULLERTON, Calif. – After an opening weekend sweep of UC Santa Barbara, the Titans hit the road for the first time in 40 days as they head to CSUN for a three-game series against the Matadors.

This will be 112th, 113th, and 114th games between the two programs with Fullerton leading the all-time series 72-38-1. The last time these two ball clubs faced each other, the Titans swept the Matadors and clinched their second consecutive Big West championship.

CSUN is coming off a midweek loss to UCLA on Tuesday after they opened up conference play against UC Davis. The Matadors came out with just one win, going 1-2 against the Aggies to open up Big West play. Savannah Horvath made history for them though, hitting her 47th career home run which is the new school record and puts her in a tie for second in conference history. She is tied with former Titan Yasmin Mossadeghi at the moment.

For Fullerton, coming off the first sweep of the Gauchos since 2010, they currently sit tied for the top spot in conference play coming into the weekend. After a dominant outing from Taylor Dockins on Friday leading them to a 2-1 win on Friday, the offense dominated on Saturday outscoring UCSB 22-6 in the double-header winning both on walk-off home runs.

Sophie Frost continues to be the ace of the Titan pitching staff as she recorded her tenth complete game and fourth shutout this past weekend. Her 1.84 season ERA ranks fifth in the conference. Dockins is the clear number two in the rotation sporting a 2.96 ERA in her rookie campaign, which is good for ninth in the conference.

Brooke Clemetson continues to tear it up at the top of the Fullerton lineup hitting .349 with a remarkable .481 on-base percentage. She continues to dominate the conference in stolen bases at 26, which is one away from matching the single-season record in Titan history. Sammie Vandiver has been on an absolute tear lately, hitting .426 in the last 13 ballgames as she has jumped her season average up to .317. The two of them at the top of the order have been remarkable at setting the table for the heart of the order.

Saturday will be a double-header at Matador Diamond with game one starting at 1:00 p.m. and game two scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start. Sunday, the series will close out with a 1:00 game.
