Williams Homers in the Win Against USD

San Diego, Calif. – The Titans defeated the San Diego Toreros 7-0 at the USD Softball Complex on Wednesday night. Ariana Williams homered twice for the Titans in the third and sixth inning.

With the win, Fullerton moves to a 13-13 on the season and currently has a three-game winning streak. 

To start the game, Delynn Rippy led off for the Titans by getting a base hit. With Samantha Vandiver at bat, Rippy stole second and then advanced to home on an error from the Toreros catcher.  

Trish Parks came in to pitch in the second inning and immediately struck out the lead off Toreros batter. In the top of the third inning, Brooke Clemetson pinch ran for Kylie Padilla's single, only to advance on a passed ball, then was batted in from Ariana Williams' first home run.

Delynn Rippy and Samantha Vandiver both base hit in the fifth inning. Lexi Gonzalez singled for the RBI to bring in Rippy and then Kelsie Whitmore came in the game to pinch run for Gonzalez. Arianna Burns and Shianne Brannan both hit sacrifice flies to bring in two more runs from Whitemore and Vandiver.

Ariana Williams homered again in the sixth inning to left center field to finalize the 7-0 win.

Pitcher Trish Parks (3-3) took the win by pitching three innings and facing nine batters with only one hit.

The Titans will play again at Cal State Fullerton against Texas on Friday, March 17 at 5 p.m. and on Saturday, March 18 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
