Rippy Snags Final Big West Conference Player of the Week Honor

IRVINE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton junior rightfielder Delynn Rippy earned her second Big West Conference Player of the Week award after closing out the regular season with a .667 batting average over the weekend.

The product out of Oceanside, Calif., helped the Titans to a 2-1 record against UC Santa Barbara as she posted three straight multi-hit games to help Cal State Fullerton finish the regular season with an overall record of 43-14 and a Big West mark of 17-4. 

Rippy hit .667 (6-for-9) and four runs scored while driving in three as she accounted for more than half of the 13 runs the Titans scored in the series. She posted a .700 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .889.

She was the only Titan to record a multi-hit game in the series opening victory as she finished the game batting 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in Fullerton's 3-1 win. In that game, she drove home the eventual-game winner with a second inning RBI-single. She also scored the Titans' insurance run in the fifth and picked up her 14th stolen base of the season in the contest. 

In the second game, Rippy roped a two-run double to give the Titans a 3-0 lead. Despite losing the game, 4-3, she was 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.

Rippy went 2-for-4 in the rubber game and helped the Titans to a 7-1 victory as she scored three times and tallied her second double of the series. 

On the year, Rippy leads the team with a .373 batting average. She has scored 20 runs, driven in 28 and has a team-best five triples to go along with three doubles and a home run. Rippy is 14-for-16 in stolen bases and has drawn nine walks.

Rippy collected the weekly honors along with Cal Poly's Sierra Hyland who earned her 11th career Pitcher of the Week award.
