FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer jumped out to a 3-0 lead for the second straight match but against UC Davis on Thursday night, they did not relinquish that lead and ended up winning 4-0 in the first Big West match of the season. Senior Atlanta Primus made history as she set the school record for assists in a career with her 20th and 21st assists. She also scored a goal of her own to lead the Titans to a 8-2-1 overall record and 1-0 in league play.

The Titans scored three goals in the first 32 minutes of the match as the front three of Primus (one goal, two assists), senior Maddie Bennett (one goal, one assist) and junior Haley Brown (one goal, two assists) were firing on all cylinders.

For the opener, Primus found Brown who then delivered the ball to Bennett as she ripped the shot for her eighth goal of the season. Bennett, the reigning Big West Offensive Player of the Week is now tied for the most goals in the league on the season.

Freshman Meghan Schroh scored her first goal as a Titan off senior Sarah Davidson's corner kick to put the Titans up 2-0.

Primus scored the third of the half as the aformentioned trio linked up again. Bennett found Brown who crossed the ball into the box and Primus pounced on it. Along with her league-leading nine assists, Primus is also tied with Bennett for the most goals in the Big West. With her 21 assists, Primus surpassed Rebecca Wilson's (2011-15) previous record of 19. Brown is second in the conference in assists with eight on the year.

Off a broken play where the defense assumed offsides, Primus and Brown stayed in the play and connected for Brown's fourth goal this season and Primus' 10th assist.

Next up for the squad is a trip to Long Beach State on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT.
