FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer out-shot the No. 17 Auburn Tigers and won more corner kicks but they were unable to convert on their chances and ended up losing 2-0 to fall to 1-3-1 on the year. Auburn, who moved to 5-0 this year, scored in the eighth minute and did not surrender the lead.

"We're just missing a little bit of an attitude," head coach Demian Brown said. "I would say the entirety of the second half, minus one or two chances, one of those being their goal, the game was played in their defensive half. The biggest issue that we have isn't necessarily how we attack, it's that final phase. I think that's a thing that all young teams struggle with, just that last thing. It is something we will continue to work on."

Auburn opened up the scoring in the eight when Treva Aycock received a centering pass from Alyssa Malsonson inside the 18-yard box. Aycock calmly took a touch and fired a shot near post to score her second goal of the season.

The Tigers then secured the win with a goal from Bri Folds in the 81st minute. Taylor Troutman played a long ball from the back that took a favorable bounce and led Folds to a one-on-one with Sanders, where Folds shot the ball into the side net to score.

Nano Oronoz, Haley Brown and Maddie Bennett each were presented with quality chances inside the 18-yard box but either missed the target or were blocked by Tiger defenders at the last moment to prevent goals.

Fullerton finished the match with 13 shots to eight for Auburn and won three corners to Auburn's two.

Goalkeeper Tianna Sanders recorded three saves on the night, each of which were challenging and what Brown called crucial. He had nothing but praise for his goalkeeper after the conclusion of the match.

The Titans return to Titan Stadium on Sunday against Fresno State with a kickoff time of 4 p.m. The Titans are undefeated on Sundays this young season as they defeated St. Mary's 5-1 and drew at Seattle 1-1 the last two Sundays.
