Cal State Fullerton Returns After Cultural International Experience Tour

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer returns from their phenomenal ten day Cultural International Experience tour.

"Our trip was a massive success, said Head Coach Demian Brown. "To be able to share this experience with all of our women, I just know this is something that changes our program and changes our culture for the better."

Fullerton spent ten days exploring Germany, the Netherlands, and Ireland. While overseas, the Titans took on three international teams, Alemannia Aachen, Excelsior Barendrecht and Shelbourne Lfc, twice.

The four matches each proved to be great teaching moments for the Titans. "After getting an idea of what their style of play is like, I'm hoping to integrate that new knowledge into my performance," said Nano Oronoz.

After each match, the team got the opportunity to socialize with the opposition. The extra time with the women enriched the overall cultural experience for the Titans. "Just being able to talk to them and get to know them was such an awesome experience and one that I will always remember," said Oronoz.

The Titans also got the opportunity to be immersed in historic landmarks such as the 101st Airborne Museum, and the Battle of the Bulge battlefield. Fullerton spent Memorial Day Weekend at the Netherlands American Cemetery to honor those who fought in World War II.

Fullerton enjoyed scenic informative tours through the cities of Aachen, Amsterdam, Bastogne, Cologne, and Dublin.

Cal State Fullerton wrapped their regular season 11-5-3 (3-3-1) and earned the Big West Tournament Championship title after defeating CSUN in PK's 4-3. The program made conference history as the first team qualify for its sixth consecutive Big West Conference Tournament.

Cal State Fullerton also finished a historic year as they claimed the Big West Commissioner's Cup for the first time in school history. The Titans averaged 137.1 points over their seven spring sports, upping their overall average to a Cup-winning 116.8 points. It has been a special year for Titan Athletics, with five teams reaching the NCAA Tournament, the highest tally for a single year in program history.

Fullerton will host a variety of youth camps throughout the summer, with the first beginning on June 9. To register, click here
