AACHEN, Germany – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer took over on foreign territory as they defeated Alemannia Aachen 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Fullerton landed in Frankfurt, Germany early Friday morning and began a day filled with touring. The team spends ten days visiting the European countries of Germany, Netherlands, and Ireland.
The Titans began the day by visiting the American World War II memorial located in the Netherlands.
As Fullerton hit the pitch on Saturday, Hailey Pohevitz wasted no time and got the Titans on the board in the 35th minute. Pohevitz fired back with another beautiful goal in the 39th minute to extend Fullerton's lead 2-0.
During the second half, Fullerton came back and thrived when Alyssa Shelton found the back of the net in the 52nd minute of the match. Shortly after, Fullerton's newest addition, transfer, Myriah Epino shot and scored in the 59th minute to boost the Titans to 4-0.
Maddison Bennett sealed off Fullerton's final goal of the day in the 70th minute to put the Titans up to an impressive 5-0 lead.
Alemannia Aachen found an opportunity in the 89th minute to put themselves on the board.
Fullerton has had a busy two days since landing Friday morning. The team has explored the cities of Cologne, Aachen, and Valkenburg.
Fullerton will play Excelsior/Barendrecht of the Eredivisie League on Tuesday at 7 a.m. PST.
