FULLERTON, Calif.– Connie Caliz showed off her veteran presence in the ninth minute of play scoring off Atlanta Primus's corner kick to secure a 1-0 win over UC Santa Barbara.
Cal State Fullerton was able to advance to 10-4-3 (3-2-1) with the 1-0 win over UC Santa Barbara 6-8-4 (2-4-1). The win puts the Titans in fourth place with hopes in squaring off in the Big West Conference Tournament.
"I'm very happy for our women to be able to bounce back from Thursday's result," said head coach Demian Brown. "To get three points against the UC Santa Barbara team is extremely important to us."
Senior GK Morgan Bertsch notched another shutout with her 90 minutes of play Sunday night.
Fullerton lead in shots 8-6 and corner kicks 7-3.
Sunday's crowd featured a youthful presence in the stands with it being JUSA Night at Titan Stadium. 100 children were able to meet the 2017 squad and get autographs from the athlete's post game.
Dara Ward, Director of Marketing & Communications of JUSA North OC said, "I wanted to partner with Titan Athletics because of the sense of community with it being so local." Ward went on to say, "It's good for the younger kids to see the older ones, and be able to see a local college that they can maybe one day attend."
The Titans look forward to Senior Night at Titan Stadium against Hawai'i, Thursday at 7:00 p.m. PT.
