FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's soccer senior Kaycee Hoover buried a pair of game-winning goals last weekend to earn her first-career Big West Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award.
The Titans improved to 5-1-2 on the season as Hoover's two goals helped them upend Iowa State (2-1) on Friday night and Utah Valley (3-0) on Sunday.
Hoover scored off of a cross in the 48th minute to give the Titans a 2-0 lead on the Cyclones, an important insurance goal that turned out to be the game-winner.
The midfielder started a flurry of three goals in a 10-minute span of the first half against the Wolverines. Samantha Koemans set up Hoover's goal at the 28:52 mark.
Hoover scored on her only two shot attempts for the week, and now has three goals for her career. On the season, she has two goals and two assists for CSF.
The Titans host their annual alumni game on Saturday at Titan Stadium at 6 p.m. PT. The squad resumes regular season action on Monday at Denver with the start time set for 6 p.m. PT.
