FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (4-1-2) took down Big-12 power Iowa State (2-4-1) in a thrilling 2-1 contest, Friday night at Titan Stadium.
Sarah Fajnor got the Titans on the board with her goal via Jazzmin Mancilla in the 41st minute of play. Fajnor tallies three goals for the season.
Kaycee Hoover set Fullerton atop with her first goal of the season in the 48th minute. Hoover received the cross thanks to a beautiful boot via Samantha Koemans before Samantha McKenna set up the ball.

Klasey Medelberg scored for the Iowa State in the 90th minute, but it was too late for the Cyclones to rally to come back.
"I am really proud of how we played today, Iowa State provided some really good challenges for us," said head coach Demian Brown. "I am really happy for our two seniors, Fajnor and Hoover, we are playing some really good soccer, we look to keep growing that and look forward to our game on Sunday."
For the first time this season, Fullerton tied their opponents in corner kicks 6-6. The Titans were aggressive all night long as they outshot the Cyclones 11-7.
Samantha Koemans led the night with three shots, two being on goal. Both goalies tallied four saves for the night.
Morgan Bertsch is now 4-1-1 and played all 90 minutes of the game.
The Titans will get back after it as they'll take on Utah Valley Sunday at 4:00 p.m. PT at Titan Stadium.
