Titans Hold First Practice of Fall Season

FULLERTON, Calif. – Preseason is officially underway, as Wednesday marked the first day back to practice.  The Titans took the field fueled and excited for the upcoming 2017 campaign.

"I'm super excited," said head coach Demian Brown. "The beginning of the season marks a fresh start, and we're excited to get things going."

The Titans welcome back 25 members from last year's squad, including 10 starters that will give Fullerton a veteran presence heading into the new year.  Out of those 10 starters, nine are seniors entering their final year with the program.

Senior Morgan Bertsch, is expected to anchor the goal for the Titans.  She made four starts in net compiling, a 1-2-0 record with a save percentage of .800.  The Titans also welcome back their leading scorer from a year ago in Sarah Fajnor.  The senior complied 16 points on seven goals scored and two assists.

Tala Haddad makes her return to the Titan midfield.  She secured nine points for Titans scoring three goals while recording three assists.  She is expected to have a strong senior year.   Jazzmin Mancilla also returns looking for a comeback season after suffering a torn ACL in last year's season opener.

Fullerton also welcomes in a talented class of eight newcomers looking to put their own stamp on the program.

Titan fans will get their first opportunity to see the squad in action as Fullerton will hold its Orange/ Blue Scrimmage Sunday at 2 p.m. PT out at Titan Stadium.  Admission to the game is free of charge.

Following the game the Titans will host their Kick-Off Fundraiser at approximately 4 p.m. PT at the Golleher Alumni House.  The event will feature guest speaker, Brian Dunseth (1995, '96), a Titan Soccer Alum, eight-year Major League Soccer veteran and current Real Salt Lake soccer analyst.  Guests will also be treated to delicious food and beverages, the chance to mix and mingle with the 2017 women's soccer team and coaching staff, and a silent auction.

All proceeds will directly benefit the women's soccer program.
