DAVIS, Calif. – Rebecca Wilson's penalty kick strike in the 86th minute served as the equalizer in Cal State Fullerton's 1-1 tie with UC Davis on Sunday afternoon at Aggie Soccer Field.

The Titans opened Big West Conference play on the road with a 1-0-1 record, while improving their overall record to 3-7-3.

"This was a great weekend for the program," head coach Demian Brown said. "To earn four points on opening weekend of our very difficult conference is a major achievement. Rebecca Wilson was a major factor in our success. She carried the team well this weekend."

Wilson's equalizer with less than five minutes to play was the junior's third goal of the week after netting two in Thursday night's 2-1 win at Hawai'i. The native of Placentia, Calif., leads Fullerton with seven goals this season including six in the Titans' last five games.

UC Davis' (3-7-3, 0-0-2 Big West) Lauren Paul put the Aggies ahead 1-0 in the ninth minute after a ball crossed into the penalty box was knocked down and loose in front of the goal. Paul was able to hit the ball in at the left post to beat Titan goalkeeper Jennifer Stuart.

Stuart finished the match with two saves.

Despite having a 14-8 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge in corner kicks, Fullerton couldn't tie the game until the 86th minute when UCD's Mandy McKeegan was whistled for a foul in the box and given a yellow card.

Wilson was chosen to take the PK for the Titans, placing her shot in the right side netting past Aggie goalkeeper Taylor Jern. Jern totaled four stops on the afternoon.

The Titans were competing in their eighth overtime match of the year, totaling a record 0-5-3 in those games. In addition, in 11 matches in the all-time series, Sunday's game marked the first tie between the two clubs as CSF holds a 9-1-1 advantage.

The Titans return to Titan Stadium on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to host rival Long Beach State.
